$0.50 in 24 hours

So in the last 24 hours, I put $0.50 in the swear jar, and I made $0.50 on my blog. I'm pretty proud of the first bit - only two swear words in a whole 24 hours! I was even able to watch my mouth at 4:30 when the kids decided it was morning (I somehow even had the wherewithal to say "fudge" instead of the less politically correct alternative at some point a round 5am when I started Cinderella in the DVD player.)

I was also pretty proud of my little blog income - until I realized Google ads threshold for payout is high. WAY higher that 51 cents. So I have a loooooooong way to go!

Speaking of driving traffic to here... I want to say thanks to everyone who has signed up to my new little "(Don't) swear for the Ottawa Snowsuit Fund" campaign. It's great to see friends of mine signing up - and it's even better to see friends of friends coming on board, too! All Facebookers are invited to join the little group I created.

Now, on to Nancy's great idea #2: a meal menu. So, this is an addendum to my previous challenge:

6b. Make a menu for at least a week ahead of time.

Actually, I think this is more like a prequel to challenge 6: make a menu, then do up your list and make sure you stick to it at the grocery store.

I think the biggest difficulty with this challenge will be to get hubby's buy-in. You see, I'm lucky enough to have a husband that does the vast majority of the cooking. Mostly it's a logistics thing. Weeknights he gets home before I do, so he starts dinner. Then weekends he just cooks out of habit. It wasn't always like that. Sometimes I miss cooking. But mostly I appreciate how lucky I am!

Oh, and since I spent the first part of my blog raving about how well I'm doing on the not swearing thing, I thought I'd leave you with some pictures of the chaos that is my home.

No, your eyes aren't tricking you. That's a Christmas tree that hubby's putting up. I haven't asked him about it, I just let him go about it since he's in a cleaning/organizing mood (less for me to do, right?!?!) And yes, that would be Cat eating the artificial tree. She's in heaven that we took it out so early this year! (And finally, please note the mess that is my coffee table, aka junk mail dropping zone, aka important papers to be filed pile, aka stuff for the trash area. I know. Challenge #2 needs a lot of work.)
