I skipped last night's post to knit and watch the season finale of Dancing with the Stars. After my disappointment over Sabrina being kicked out several weeks ago, the best two remaining contestants were definitely the final two, and in the end, I'm quite content that Helio won, with his great dancing and most importantly, his infectuous personality. He truly is the definition of adorable.
I'm doing okay with the knitting, but this will be my one and only scarf, I think. Although this is nonetheless challenging, I need something that has a little more diversity to keep me interested. And something smaller, too. My friend Nancy suggested I stick to kids' clothes. Smart lady, she is.

Another comment on my blog gave me a lot of food for thought today. I was saying in my last entry that I tend to do things in spurts. At the time, I was only referring to my hobbies (which hubby has been known to call my obsessions - and I can't disagree 100%). Amy noted that maybe I'm just the kind of person who does things cyclically - and though she didn't specifically say this, maybe it applies to everything in my life.
For example, I've been so much better about swearing. I'm not even putting in a quarter a day anymore, which is huge for me. I've also been much, much better about cleanliness around the house. Also a big deal for me. In fact, I'm doing so well, I even tidied up my office yesterday (though most people would still have a cow of they saw it, but that's neither here nor there). I've also been doing well with my web surfing - in fact, many evenings recently I haven't been on at all, and have not blogged during my work day in a while!
A bit of running around tonight, including a visit to our financial planner. I'd also hoped to go guitar shopping (!!!) while my parents watched the kiddos, but music stores apparently aren't open Wednesday nights a month before Christmas. Oh, I guess I hadn't mentioned, I'm getting a guitar for Christmas! My three-year-old is also getting one, and I was playing scales on hers the other day (as well as I could with the tiny thing, anyway) so I now want one too! She and I can have fun playing together.
And finally, I'm hoping to be home on time to catch Ed's Up and do some more knitting, of course.
I'm also starting to think that I'm ready to take on a new challenge, so anyone who knows me and has any suggestions to make: bring 'em on!
